About Journal

Journal of Plant Studies (JPS) is an international, double‑anonymized peer‑reviewed, open‑access journal published by the Canadian Center of Science and Education. The journal publishes original research articles, applied studies, and educational articles in the fields of plant science and plant‑related technology.

Authors are encouraged to submit complete, original, unpublished manuscripts that are not under review by any other journal. All published articles are freely available online.

Focus and Scope

Journal of Plant Studies publishes original research and critical reviews on plant biology and the science of cultivated and wild plants. The journal welcomes work on plant taxonomy, anatomy, and morphology; physiology, development, and growth regulation; biochemistry, secondary metabolites, cell biology, molecular biology, and genetics; plant–microbe interactions and pathology; ecology, evolution, biodiversity, and environmental adaptation; cell, tissue, and organ culture; plant propagation, breeding, and germplasm; crop physiology and agronomy; plant protection; and validated analytical methods for plant materials.

Submissions must place plants or plant systems at the center of the research question and provide a clear advance in plant science or crop science. Applied studies should generate generalizable knowledge about plant performance, improvement, health, propagation, cultivation, quality, or adaptation rather than report a local practice alone.

Chemical, computational, engineering, policy, standards, or interdisciplinary studies are eligible only when they answer a plant‑science question or introduce and validate a method or decision framework for plant research or management.

The journal excludes general chemistry, food processing, clinical or pharmacological studies, and policy or environmental surveys that do not make a substantive contribution to the understanding or management of plants.
