Abstract

The purpose of the present study is to reveal the influence of CO2 hydrate on the flow of liquid CO2 injected in a packed bed as simulating seabed. In order to reveal the influence of CO2 hydrate, differential pressure and temperature are measured under both condition of CO2 hydrate formation and no-formation. As the result, under the condition of the hydrate formation, differential pressure at the inlet of the packed bed become large compared with that under the condition of no-formation. The amount of the hydrate estimated from the temperature suggested increasing as the initial temperature of the test section lowers. Friction factor is also estimated. As the result, in the upstream part of packed bed, the difference of the friction factor between the hydrate formation and no-formation condition become small with increase of Reynolds number.
