AbstractAttitude of working mothers on breastfeeding was studied between December, 2011 and February, 2012 in Calabar Municipality, Cross River State, Nigeria. One hundred willing mothers were interviewed using self-administered questionnaires, for literate mothers and oral administration of questionnaires to illiterate mothers. Data were analyzed using student’s t-test and chi-square statistics. Our results have confirmed that some factors such as age, tribe, religion, occupation, marital status, educational status, health status, socio-economic status, attendance at anti-natal clinics, number of children and diverse opinions have affected the attitudes of working mothers towards EBF.
